The Beginning Band consists of students in the sixth grade. At the end of their fifth grade year, students get to try out any instruments they wish to play, and from that determine what they want to play in the sixth grade beginning band. This ensemble explores the basics of music and instrumental performance. Also a part of the curriculum, the beginning band students learn very basics of music history and theory.
